This penning would identify how a project manager could be successful in project management or, more specifically, in effectively completing a project.First, it is important to stress that a project manager is crucial in ensuring the success of a project in the sense that he orchestrates the multiple components and stakeholders involved. He or she must plan the project and at the same time oversee disparate groups, watch for cost overruns, mediate disputes, among other tasks that require balancing. In short, a project manager must deal with several issues including time, cost, people, equipment, resources, commitment and so forth all at the same time. An effective project mana ger could aviate these issues by systematically addressing them in planning, organizing, staffing the project and facilitating the work.Planning is one of the most important responsibilities of a project manager. Bulding and Constraction Company - Research Paper ExampleGreater detail, analysis and sensitivity are prescribed when quality is the key portion of purport completion. This means processing controls, implementation and constant appraisal of the project phases to keep on track. Implementing total quality begins with an accurate definition of the project and its detailed limitations then it is followed by estimating task durations and resources in a officiate breakdown structure. Tracking progress, reporting problems and altering the plan of action, requires the application of several project circumspection tools. If it must be noted, persistence and effort is expected in the commitment of TQM. It is thought that when a plan has not been followed, the plan was a waste in the first place (Leavitt et al, 1994).Figure 1 and 2 present the crucial aspects required to achieve quality in project management. The first emphasizes on grandness of active participation of different entities o r the involvement in acquiring relevant feedback important in improving the project. The second figure shows the role of leadership and organisation culture in the process of change.Globalisation has caused changes in project structures and authority levels, becoming more equalising but requiring a broadened sectoral participation. Womens Studies. Black women - Essay ExampleFinding a website that focused solely on the lives and accomplishments of African women and/or on African-American women wasnt a piece of cake. There were websites that contained information about famous African-American people, who after a lot of struggle made it big as artists, musicians, sportsmen or information posted about the blacks in the Black history month, but a website based entirely on African-American womens lives was not that diffuse to find. However, after skimming around numerous websites for about an hour and seeing if they had the required material, I came across docsouth.unc.edu, a website featuring the First-Person Narratives of the American South, that provided voice to the minority groups (i.e, Southerners) who remained unheard or were not given the value they deserved. (The University Library, n.d.) One of the memoirs the site contains is of Joice Heth, a black woman who was born on the Island of Madagascar, on the C oast of Africa, in the year 1764, and lived up to around 161 years. She was a slave too, but her life was not nearly as bitter as most of the others of her kind, for she was blessed with the parcel of having kind masters. She is said to have been the nurse of George Washington since he was born, and this is one of the things, apart from her astounding age, that grabs the attention of people towards her. This memoir was published in 1835 and it similarly contains several testimonies of people who knew Joice, affirming her goodness and the belief that her piety could never be doubted. The Narrative of Bethany Veney, A Slave Woman Electronic Edition is yet other story of a black slave, which shows that the right to education was a far off thing she had to ask her masters permission to even go to Church (Malburne, n.d.). When she got matrimonial to a slave named Jerry, and later when he was sent tp jail and she went to visit him, she was not even allowed to meet him in private. We h ad committed no offence against paragon or man. Jerry had not and yet, like base criminals, we were denied even the consolation of privacy. This was a necessary part of the system of American slavery. Neither wife nor mother could put in to soften its rigors one jot.(Collected Black Womens Narratives, 20) Highlights from Fanny Jackson Coppins autobiography Reminiscences of School Life, and Hints on Teaching were also found in the website, which proved to be sooner helpful in learning about the achievements of capable black women. Coppin, too, was born a slave in Washington DC in 1837, but as luck would have it for her, she was bought by her aunt for $125. Her autpbiography shows how keen she was not inly to pursue education for herself, but also to do as much as possible to help and coach others. After taking a lot of diverse courses, she became so good at teaching that when she was chosen to teach a preparatory course at Oberlin, they feared the children would rebel against her due to her coloured skin, but instead, the children loved having her as their teacher so much that the course had to be divided until no more students could be added to it. In 1865 she joined Institute for Colored Youth(IYC) and in 1869 became the principal of it, where she worked on the dire need of providing vocational education to African Americans with very clear demands We do not ask that any one of our people shall be put into a position because he is a colored person, but we do most emphatically ask that he shall not be kept out of a position because he is a colored person (Collected Black W

Management information system ip2 - Essay ExampleA research conducted by Greasley et al shows that the employees are able to relate to the concept of empowerment in a different way than the supervisors. The employees believe that they are provided with the state of completing a certain task and this inflates them to complete the particular task in a remarkable manner. Other than the sense of responsibility, the employees also believe that they bugger off a control of work which provides them to manage their tasks accordingly. In other words the employees are able to work in a manner that is beneficial to twain the employer and the employee himself (Greasley et al 2008).Employee Empowerment is considered as a source of high productivity by the supervisors. The supervisors can provide the employees with work and can create a unified goal which helps in increasing the productivity at a large scale. The supervisor is able to motivate the employee and hence optimize the performance in consistency to the needs. The supervisor tends to feel safe when handing the employees work because he/she believes that the employee would be able to take the responsibility on his own. In other words the level of verify increases between the supervisor and the employee (Potterfield 1999 p.123-124 Lashley p. 62-64).The theory X of management and decision- make process revolves around an authoritative form of leadership in which the managers hold the sole authority of making decisions whereas the theory Y states that the employees have an equal say in the decision making process. A+ - Assignment ExampleQuestion 2 In economics, the concept of allocation of resources is sometimes linked to efficiency and equity. Efficiency and equity often come in contrast to each other and in most instances both cannot be maintained. in that location is a difference of treatment of employees of high tech firms compared to those of the franchising firms. This is because the high tech firm employees are more economically efficient as their work has greater returns. This results in better compensations. On the other hand the returns of other workers like salesman or layman is lower compared to those at high level white nab jobs. If no reallocation of reso urces or trade of goods and service can be made that increases value to some individual without anyone else being made worse off, the situation is Pareto efficient. (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)Therefore, as mentioned above by allowing for equitable distribution in some situations there is a chance of not only achieving Pareto efficiency but also increase the standard of living of the people. This may in turn increase spending and will inject money back into the economy. Building Performance Management through Employee Participation Essay - 1
Building Performance Management through Employee Participation - Essay ExampleTo ensure the employees are motivated and committed to achieving organizational goals and consequently success or effectiveness, performance management is crucial. Most people use the terms performance management and performance appraisal interchangeably but performance appraisal is just part of performance management aimed at ensuring that employees perform their hypothesises up to the expected standards. Since performance management involves ensuring the right employee behavior, employees confederation in the process is key to effectiveness. Failure to involve employees in making decisions in issues that affect them may lead to negative results as illustrated in the Jewelers usual Insurance Company (JMI). These include poor job attitudes, reduced motivation, and reduced effort on the job (Mathis and Jackson 354). Employee participation is considered crucial in determine whether specific performance man agement methods, procedures and requirements will be accepted and that they work effectively to turn out performance improvement (OPM.gov). Employee dissatisfaction is as a result of non move employees in the process. Employees have different personalities and thus different opinions and perceptions. As such, seeking their opinion in issues that affect them ensures acceptability and commitment (Roberts 89). Consider JMI which a performance management in place but employees were dissatisfied with the way goal-directed behavior was being encouraged. If the organization had involved the employees in deciding on the goals to be accomplished and the expected performance standards, the employees would have been comfortable with the process since they are already aware of what is expected of them. Besides, Roberts asserts that if the employees are involved in shot standards and performance measures, they cannot perceive the process to be unfair (93). As such employee participation in t he process leads to increased reliability, fairness and validity. He also asserts that since employees take a crap ownership of the process, they are committed to ensuring its success (89). Employee participation in designing the rating form makes it pleasing to the ratees hence minimizing conflicts between management and employees. After engaging employees in the performance management process, JMI was able to get commitment and support from employees and improved performance. This was through improvements to the system, that is, their views were incorporated during the redesigning process thus creating a system acceptable to all and which linked performance management to other human resource activities. This case is thus a good example of how employee participation enhances greater support for the system. The experience of JMI is also a lesson to other organizations on how performance management systems can be improved. One of the ways to improve the system is through continuous feedback. Some organizations hold review meetings annually thus do not give employees frequent feedback. This is detrimental to the organization since an employee is unable to understand whether he or she is accomplishing what he/she set out to accomplish or make amendments and move in the right direction. As a result, the performance may not improve. For Roberts, job satisfaction and performance can be enhanced by use of a specific, timely and behavioral feedback by a credible source (93). stalk feedback also allows redefining of goals and
